How smooth was this kid?

When I was a the beach on Saturday night waiting for the fireworks to start - a kid that was about 12 years old walked by and noticed a girl that was in his class before summer vacation. They started chatting and after a few minuets I started to think I was seeing young love blossoming. Then the boy took off his hat reviling a buzz cut. The girl said - I like your hair cut and the boy said - thanks - I had lice so they had to save my hair.
