If you have ex's, how many? How long were you with each one? How long in between?
We've both had ex's. I've dated both men and women and had a few short relationships of up to 5 yrs with 2 guys and one other girl. Mel's only ever dated women and was with one nearly 10 yrs that ended 5 yrs before we met. My relationships have had a year or two in between to re-learn how to have enough self-confidence to try again and be vulnerable.
I speak to friends about relationship experiences, learnings, etc. a fair bit and the common theme seems to be that it can take some time to feel able to date and love again. People who flip quickly from one love interest to the next seem to be the most screwed up.
We also know people who have never had relationships, and some (inc guys) who will never have them again out of choice. There's no right or wrong in this.
It gets more complicated if there are kids involved.
