And intermittent reinforcement is incredibly powerfl. and so the two combine to become very destructive for their romantic target. Look up the "idealize,devalue, discard, hoover" cycle. she makes a huge effort with her appearance, and with her very technical, antisocial tech career - the two things her emotional/social things dont impair.
