I don't usually do subtext but every now and then I use indirect communication.

I wish I could link back to the thread I'm speaking about, but usual rules don't really allow for call out threads.

But the thing is that whole conversation with me having to be like "my bad, have fun."

Subtext: Hi. I can see my replies are troubling you. I don't wish to bother you anymore ,I don't share your love of this stuff, but, live and let live. I don't want to take it away from you. Have fun with your reference joke. I would like to take my leave of this now. I acknowledge my mistake, and would now like to wash my hands of it, will you please let me? BYE.
