Are you familiar with the term Limerence ?

I fell to this issue on this very site and it took me many months to get past it once the “ friendship” ended.

I think and fear that it’s happening again with someone I know in real life.
I recently came across the term and did some reading about it and it describes what’s happening in my head pretty accurately..

I’m on tik tok and I’ve been watching this one psychologist explain what limerence is and how it affects people.
Now the algorithm is showing me other posts about the same thing.

The one time that I can honestly say that the algorithm is a good thing.
Now I know what my problem is and I’m learning about why it happens and how it affects me.
I’m also beginning to learn about ways to overcome it,
I know that I’m not broken, it’s not something that I should be ashamed of. It’s an unfortunate side effect of certain trauma or neglect issues that I’ve never looked at directly as I probably should have.
I can get over it but most of the healing has to come from within me.

Amusingly, I learned this term because of a crush on someone that uses the word and I had to look it up when they did.

I never heard of it before but I'm familiar with it 😏 😳

mental state of being madly in love or intensely infatuated when reciprocation of the feeling is uncertain
@ShenaniganFoodie
In a nutshell but in reality it’s more complicated
