If you're married and it's an expensive purchase it should be discussed between the both of you because it affects both of your finanaces.

@MsSwan Yes any major purchases should be discussed. My wife and I don't keep seperate bank accounts and all our money goes in and out of one account. It's our money so we discuss major purchases. We never really run into issues where we disagree about spending fortunately.
