I’d like to think most don’t go south because that would hurt the romantic in me too much to admit.

It’s common for the passion that drives a lot of romance to slowly fade over time though, especially as Life requires more adult responsibilities and parenting has to take a vital role in the day-to-day. A lot of people get pulled so thin with every role they have to play that the romance within gets very little attention, and that can cause the spiral downward. One…or both have to take note of it and feel safe enough to start a conversation about it otherwise the spark that once was will fade to a tiny ember needing a tremendous amount of love and attention to even begin fueling the fire that made you you as a couple. That’s too much work for some, but hopefully not most.
