I’d move on x

PinkMoon · 26-30, F
I wish I had left my ex who had similar traits sooner so let me say this, when someone stands you up multiple times they don't care about your time and they don't respect you. You should leave him before you get even more emotionally attatched because the you'll start to make excuses for him and put yourself last, just like he does. You deserve someone who respects you, your time, and your mental health.
Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
I reckon that if you’ve got doubts then it’s better to cut the ties now rather than get in too deeply.
I would never stand someone up like that. And if I couldn’t afford a meal, I’d suggest something else. For me it would be about spending time together no matter what.
DrWatson · 70-79, M
I think you need to confront him and ask him why.

And don't let him get himself off the hook with vague answers. Press him, saying that you need to understand what is really going on here.

" Do you not want to spend the money?"
" Do you not want our relationship to be public?"
" Do you feel pressured for some reason if we are at a restaurant?"
" Is there something you are hiding from me?"

Don't give up until he cracks!
Redbeard · 56-60, M
I'm sorry, anytime I get stood up on a date we agreed to meet, I break all ties with that person and move on to someone else who will treat me with more respect. The only exception would be if the person enroute gets into an accident or becomes hospitalized. Those are good reasons. Everything else are lame excuses.
ArtieKat · M
I agree with what everyone else has said - but you could try one last time, and tell him to pick you up from home!
4meAndyou · F
Could it be that he's a cheapskate and doesn't want to pay for both of you to eat at a restaurant?

I advise you to have a conversation with him. IRL.
IamBack · 31-35, M
I think the profile picture says a lot about how much you “respect” the relationship as well 🤷🏻‍♂
Do you only spend the other time at home together? If so it likely means he’s too embarrassed to be seen with you in public.
Bowenw · 61-69, M
Unless he has a good verifiable excuse, like he’s a surgeon and got called in for an emergency surgery, it’s time for you to move on.

I wouldn't accept this... A date is a date
Ask him what's up and why he doesn't prioritize you.
Up to you. Only you can say if standing you up that often is intolerable, who's fault it is, etc.
Lackwittyname · 51-55, M
Five times in a row, wow, I would have stopped seeing someone after the second time.
daddylikestoshow · 46-50, M
I'd say don't waste your time on him

5th? It shouldn't have gone past the 2nd. He's married.
QCDog2659 · 61-69, M
From my perspective, he is not truly interested in you.

Dump him.
MommaBear · 26-30, F
He’s definitely cheating
5 times? That man is not invested and is testing how much he can get away with.
