I will always remember

I remember the Saturday that i met you how stifling hot and humid it was and how nervous i was.
I remember you were so good looking and self confident and popular in your blue Camaro. I remember the first words you ever said to me. I remember driving around the lake and drinking beer. I remember you holding my hair back as i got sick from playing beer pong. And i remember the last words that you said to me that night were the same as the first.

I remember your eyes the same as mine and how they looked when you spoke my name. I remember being so proud of you when you chose your career as a firefighter. Not only were you my hero but a hero to others as well.

Fast forward 13 years and i remember you in your hospital bed deathly sick. I remember the first words you said to me were the same words you had said to me the first night i had met you. I remember praying that you would get a donor and leaving your room to cry so that you wouldn't see me.

I remember your last day on Earth. I remember our last kiss and you telling me those same words as the first day. I remember my heart breaking as I held your hand long after you took your last breath. I kissed your cheek as i whispered, "Good bye Eddy." You were mine and i will always remember how i never doubted or questioned your love for me. And i will forever remember you telling me that i was the most beautiful girl that you had ever seen in your life.

Very well written. Could feel your pain and longing. Hope the 13 years were well lived. At least you got that.

Hold on to the loving lingering memories. There are many who never got that even.

Sad that so many marriages and dating couples never reach the depth of love the two of you had, after many more years than you had. My heart aches for your loss.
Eddy was lucky to have you in his life. (Even if it was only for a short time)

I can tell you were deeply in love with him. Glad you had the time you did. 🤗

Damn.. and it's like if you could trade your time for theirs you would. It should work like that too. I don't see why someone else has to die early if I'm willing to trade mine. Seems like it should work out and be an easy 1 for 1 swap.
