It wasn't sad, just real, I like stories.
Reading along I was nodding in agreement.. I've let an ex , with whom we've been friends for over a decade over the phone, go. He'd become so judgemental and every time I'd have to be in my softest so to avoid any edges otherwise he'd become angry and hurt.
Walking on eggshell sort of thing.
Full moon is too a great time to let these thoughts go along with the stories...:)
There's no bitterness, nor in your narrative or in my story.
My guy has found another woman and they're good together. So :)

@CountScrofula ^ what the Canadian said. Don't lose your love, but don't waste it on ingrates. Boundaries are important.
