Yep...
I was living on one of the outlying Hawaiian Islands for a year's contract and she was living on an Island off the East Coast of Canada.
It was before the days of cell phones, and we communicated by sending cassette tapes back and forth.
The result was that once my contract was up, I took a contract near her and moved back to Eastern Canada.
We never had serious intentions of marrying and are still Facebook friends today.
