What do you think of people who refer to their partners as THE gf/wife or THE bf/husband? Rather than MY gf/wife or bf/husband.
Ive also heard someone refer (more than once) to their partner as “my human”. “I love being with my human.”

There's nothing wrong w/"the" or "my human", but that's in relation to the cats. I'd say that the nuances of "the wife" can make it appropriate or inappropriate.
