What do you think of people who refer to their partners as THE gf/wife or THE bf/husband? Rather than MY gf/wife or bf/husband.

Ive also heard someone refer (more than once) to their partner as “my human”. “I love being with my human.”

My husband has always referred to me as “the wife.” I’ve never liked it, but given that he is uncomfortable with any kind of vulnerability or emotion, it seems consistent with what he can handle. I think you have to try to understand the source.
