You kids — you're all indecisive and confused and afraid. By the time you're my age, you realize that you should have been more active and decisive in your youth. You also learn that once your shot is gone, it's gone for good and ain't never coming back. Take your shot while you still can. And if he doesn't like it? It won't be the end of the world.

@DunningKruger Hit me in my feels, why don't you? I'm the one who usually initiates the convos, and it's a bit tiring. It also doesn't help that I have my own problems at home and I don't feel like I deserve love, also not wanting to put him in the spot of having to deal with me and my problems in the case where he actually likes me and wants to be together

@Mary21 I get it. You'd like someone else to put in the work. Unfortunately, you'll never be able to rely on that. Sure, it happens, but not reliably. And sure, the rest of your life is an issue. That's always going to be the case. Your relationships will always be just one aspect of your whole existence.

And, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you absolutely deserve love. Absolutely.

If he isn't willing to take the bad things that come along with you — everyone has bad things that come along with them — then he doesn't deserve the good things, and you're better off knowing that as soon as possible so you can move your limited resources somewhere else.

When you're young, we all think we're immortal and we have all the time in the world. We're not and we don't. We take action, or we lose the chance to take action. And we only have a limited number of actions we can ever take.

@DunningKruger I'm not saying I'd want him to always be the one to text me or strike up a conversation, It's just that he doesn't talk much so I don't know if I should try to continue or leave him alone.
