Some of us talk crap to the people we love. Some of us treat our loved ones with less respect than our friends. Some of us talk about the people we claim to love behind their backs. Some of us lie to the people we love. Some of us even abuse them too. I think you get my point here today. Do you believe that you can love someone and still be disrespectful to them at the same time. Tough question. Best answer wins. Comments. 🤔

I think people get complacent with someone they love when they are loved back. They no longer feel the need to be in their best behaviour because they already won. And their disrespect of the other is what their true nature is - possibly even some disdain for anyone loving them. Some people feel underserving of love and when someone loves them, they think there is something wrong with them. So yes, it is possible to love someone and disrespect them. But this person needs help to see how their behaviour is.
