A person whom you had developed an affection suddenly ghosted you for 6 months.

Now he wants to connect again. What should be your ideal response?
I wish I could do this earlier. She ghosted me many times twice for 6 months and I kept giving her chance. Last she ghosted me and never bothered to reply me. It was so painful since I knew her well. 😥
Could it hurt to get an explanation as to why they cut you off and also why they want to reconnect?
@Colonelmustardseed I have no clue 🤷‍♀️,maybe a part of his nature to dominate the relationship?
@Caleidoscope Could be. It could also be that he was dealing with some things in his life and wasn’t up to talking. I know a couple people like that. Depression trait where they fall off the face of the earth. Or it could even be that he decided to talk to someone else for a while or lost interest, and is suddenly interested again. Never know till you ask what happened. If it’s something like that, it’d be best to cut ties with him.

Nah. I wouldn’t bother. So much self respect.

The best response is NOT TO RESPOND. I knew a person online who'd ghost and come back and ghost and come back. I stopped responding and as far as I'm concerned they are out of my life for good. I was so trauma bonded and did not realise that this is also a form of emotional abuse
Camelia · F
That relies on the rationale behind their ghosting. It would be beneficial to provide more context.

Send a little blurry nude and say "Sorry, you're six months too late 💋"
Raaii · 22-25, F
It happens
It happens a lot
Now I think it's good to stay silent without giving them the response they want like there's no reason to explain, at the end will they understand?
So as they say speech is silver but silent is golden
I follow it these days 🤦‍♀️
Layla07 · 26-30, F
Do i know you?
deadgerbil · 22-25
Ignore them
Thefreckledgirl1 · 18-21, F
my old bestfriend did that to me and shut me out when i needed her the most then she came crawling back when she needed me i cut her off so quick it wasnt even funny
Dethmoore · 31-35, M
Depends whether you’re desperate or not. Also, if you don’t mind not being his priority. But if you have any respect for yourself, you move on.
eMortal · M
It’s best to block them and move on but we both know you’re dying to hear them out. It’s just human nature. 🤷🏻‍♂️😉

I only give so many chances then I move on ..I'm understanding and all but I have my limits
I can't be bothered to respond to someone who didn't think twice before ghosting me.
PinkMoon · 26-30, F
I think I would want an explanation first. After that I'd block them.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
No response. Move on and never look back.
Tetsuya · 51-55, M
@SumKindaMunster while that was my first reaction, there is the 0.01% chance it wasn't anything the guy could have done about it ie jail time, he is in the military etc...
the OP would have to put her big girl panties on and ask to know for sure
and of course immediately report back to SW

Was he in jail or in a coma?
Fertilization · 36-40, F
Tell him

‘Sorry dude, you are late.’
Wait 6 months to reply
he was prob hooking up with someone
@deathfairy and she dumped him ?
it prob didn’t work out for them.

OR he does like you and wants to compare you and her and see who he wants to choose.. @Caleidoscope
Well, it depends why they ghosted
Tetsuya · 51-55, M
@Jexie ^this^
Lilnonames · F
