Four Marriages By 40?

That was the goal of one of a woman in my town and she accomplished it. She is kind of notorious around here. She always has a prenup and she has one child with each husband. She is set for rest of life and now can go out and play. She doesn’t live here anymore. Know anyone like that?

I had a guy working for me in the military. He was her second husband, she had previously been married to an older military guy and she had kid with the older guy before they had divorced. She had stayed married to the older guy for just over 10 years, so she got 1/2 his retirement pay (the military rule at the time) AND child support for their kid.

She once drunkenly said that she was just staying married to the guy working for me until 10 years passed so that she could snag 1/2 his retirement pay as well.

BTW: I have heard the new rule is 7 years ....

@Threepio Here the rule is that you only have to co-habit for 6 months to be considered 'defacto' for the purposes of property settlement etc. after splitting up. My first ex tried to take some of my super (401k money equivalent) and I paid child support directly to her (not through the government agency). with my second I wasn't interested in her house (which she now fully owns) or her money - just my daughter's parenting and I had to take her to court over that. I pay child support through the government agency for my daughter since her mum has nil recourse if she doesn't get the money. Never been married. My first ex married that man she cheated with. Second ex secretly hates men, has never been married, and burnt the relationship she had after me as well. I don't own a house but might finally have that chance soon. Bit late at age 55 but gotta start somewhere.
