A hungry man goes fishing at a river and hooks a huge fish. He’s so happy he declares that he loves that fish and goes to cook his meal.

But love here is a turn of phrase. He doesn’t care for the fish, want what’s best for it. His love of that fish goes as far as what that fish can give him.
Have you been in a relationship like this? They can be lovers, friends, or even family. But for each, their “love” of someone goes only as far as what that person can give them.
For someone, they’ve invested so much time and energy that they refuse to see it. Others have just normalized being the one who always gives and rarely receives. Don’t get caught up in fish love, because the angler only cares about his next meal.

Some fish aspire to being a meal. For them, this fisherman’s love is the greatest they’ll ever know.
