How do I ask a guy out

There’s a guy who asked me out about a year ago but I was going through a tough time and was not ready for a new relationship. At this point in my life I’m doing much better and I’d like to go on a date with him. Not sure if he’s still interested or what the situation is but how do I go about asking him?

I’m sure he still want to date … aka … smash. But u waited kinda long might have other things more important after a year
