Shitty human relationships, why even getting involved in them if they end up so badly

Some people have a warped sense of authority over everyone around them, and believe their ways are superior, and that anyone else shall change to fit under their wishes if they want to be close friends or relationship partners with them. It’s wrong and arrogant, but it’s out there a plenty.
