Anyone ever leave a marriage for less serious reasons?

Ex. Not bc of cheating or domestic violence but maybe more bc of spousal personality conflicts like being selfish, having a chronic confrontational/argumentative personality to you or others, difficult or absurd to the point of doubting their intellect, never wrong kind of person who lives in their own world? Or any other chronic personality issues?

Id be surprised if this wasn't the majority reason for people leaving a marriage.

@ButterRobot let’s see what people say! 😊

I have my issues sometimes. But I realize there are also flaws in me as well. A relationship is like an investment. I've been with my significant other for 8 years. There were times I did not want to be with him for being mean sometimes but I realized I have been a lot meaner. So I've worked on it and we are less irritated at each other.

Search for self. Wanting more. Too dittzy to understand that working on a marriage, making it work takes work. Shirking responsibility. Wanting to be free.

All crap. Setting self up for a life of regrets.
Sad.

Like my wife realized she was a lesbian? I didn't think it was possible to love someone as much as I loved her. Letting her go hurt me more than everything. But she is happy now and I've moved on.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@luv2fish I’d consider that a major reason
luv2fish · 70-79, M
@DoubleRings Yes, a major reason. She hid it from me for not quite 9 years. There were many red flags that I ignored.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@luv2fish well, to be fair if someone tells you they’re straight, you don’t really suspect they would lie about it….or not know it.

I'm in a similar situation right now. Never trusts a word I say (despite me having much more life experience), has to argue constantly. I swear there's some days that if I said the sky was blue, she'd argue it was pink.

I love her, but don't know how much more of it I can cope with.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@TheThinker hormones? How old is she?
TheThinker · 56-60, M
@DoubleRings May I PM you the answer? It could be a little identifying to state in public.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
Sure I may wait till tomorrow to reply since I’m hitting the hay! Thanks for asking! @TheThinker

My ex turned into a bit of a narcisist . The verbal abuse and constant argueing was to much and my mental health was suffering so had to up and leave for my own sanity .
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
How long did you stay married before you left? @Rhode57
Vacantfever41 · 46-50, F
I've never had a really good pickle

And if you get that reference it would really impress me lol
Like my pop who found fault in mom and my sister and me there was never fault in him
DoubleRings · 51-55, F

All reasons fall under psychological incapacity.
We grew apart. Nobody got mad.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I didn't. Ex-wife did.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@uncalled4 how long together? why’d she check out?
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@DoubleRings All together? Almost 13 years. Why? Only she knows.
