How did you get over your ex when you didn’t have proper closure and really felt like they were the one?

I am ashamed to say it’s been many many years.

Not sure it’s something one can get over. But more of a realization of that person will never care for you the way you want and need to feel loved. That no matter what they will never see you the way you see them. So it becomes more of a save yourself situation
