Why do people in interracial relationships/marriage get harassed and taunted a lot more than other couples?

I remember getting nasty and horrible looks because my first boyfriend was Latino and I’m a white girl. My other ex is white and I didn’t get those relations. I understand most people prefer to stick with their own kind but love is love no matter what. Even some of my relatives said I should stick with my own race to avoid harsh criticism and black lash of being in a interracial relationships.
I’m not going to reject a man if he isn’t white. That’s racist. A girl I know from college gets taunted, harassed and gets harsh criticism because she is engaged to her fiancé who is white and she’s a black woman. Some of her relationships don’t approve at all.
People are never satisfied.

Some people take pride in their cultural heritage/race and want to keep that going. They may look down on interracial relationships because of that pride. And then you have your racists who hate interracial relationships, period. I’ve been told to stay within my race as well.

People like what they’re used to. Some people will get almost personally offended on behalf of everyone who has their color or culture, simply by seeing someone mixing it up.
Most of the time I think it has to do with people seeing it as some kind of corruption of their culture or country’s ideas. To give a couple of examples

Some people are old fashion. Still love who you love

It’s not racist to not be physically attracted to every member of the opposite sex .

@LaylaTheTallGirl Pardon the fuck out of me for being blunt. Holy shit. You certainly seemed surprised at it from the way you wrote.
