Christmas gift giving

My boyfriend decided that he doesn't want any gifts from me this year, and any money I would have spent on him I should use to get myself something, so he won't have to get me a gift.

Is that being practical or is he being a prick?

I find it hurtful, am I being overly sensitive?

Depends upon how long ago he told you that and if he's just now telling you that he's being a prick if he mentioned that let's say three four months ago then he knows his financial situation. But neither one of you should have to spend a lot of money on either one

@dale74 he just told me. It's not about spending a lot of money. Just a small token would have been enough.

It's just another sign that my "relationship " is over.
