Letting someone know …

Why do we resist telling people that we like / love them ?

Is it because they might be scared ..?
Shocked and unaccepting ?
Afraid of not receiving a positive response ?
Maybe they don’t know you well ?

Is it because you are not sure how they take it and you might be publicly humiliated ?

I tell my kids I love them every time I get the chance.

Romantically I've been screwed over so many times, I don't think it's possible. Even if they said it, it will only be to manipulate me. So yeah, no.
