@ChampagneOnIce for me it isn't. It means you have an important place for them, and that makes it a connection. Not something one sided. Even if they can't be together, it's way, way better, and there is hope, when people truly work for something and want to make it together is a totally different story.

@SW-User Connections are wonderful, but you can’t always be with someone with whom you share a connection. I’d rather not long for someone whether it’s mutual or not, but I understand what you’re saying.

@ChampagneOnIce Such is life. Sometimes it almost feels as if the reason it's done that is to teach you that life is hard. Seems like kind of an arbitrarily harsh lesson - especially when you see some prick is happy and hasn't earned it and is genuinely unappreciative but ah well. Such is life.

@SW-User I don't tend to notice nor spend my time on jerks, but I agree with the harsh lesson. Definitely a learning experience, but you live and learn and keep going. I have a lot of good in my life, and I'm grateful every day for it. I try to focus on the positive. Some days are better than others, but overall, I'm a pretty upbeat person. :) We all have a heartache somewhere, though. C'est la vie.
