Do you believe in soulmates? I hate romantic movies but I love the idea of such a deep connection.

I read the other day that soulmates transcend time and place, overcoming all obstacles to be together.

It included the possibility of past lives, in that two souls will continue to find one another, regardless of where, or when, they exist.

I certainly believe that some people have a connection that doesn't make a lot of sense on a purely conscious level, but I don't like the concept of a "soulmate", per se.

In a way, it seems to be an easy out when relationships get difficult. Like "Oh well, guess he/she wasn't my soulmate after all. I'll just let her/him go and look for the right one this time."
