So what books did everyone get for Christmas?

I got quite a pile, include “Vera, or Faith” by Gary Shteyngart, and “Clown Town” by Mick Herron. The latter is the latest Slow Horses novel. The former is a short novel by a weird and fascinating writer. Funny and serious at the same time. Told from the perspective of a 10yo girl. It’s a dystopian view of life in the US in the very near future. But also makes fun of people on both sides. It works because the main character is so interesting and sympathetic. Highly recommended.

J got me The Midnight Library, but I already have it, so I’ll give my copy to my daughter and keep the one he got me. It’ll still be a surprise because I hadn’t read it yet. 😂👍

@JustNik Good plan! Although I sometimes use gifts like that as a kind of gift certificate to return it and pick out something else.
