What was the last book you read?

I never read as a boy. I had Dickens forced on me. Then I discovered Hemingway.

These days I read Simenon.

The Last Miles — The Music of Miles Davis 1980–1991, by George Cole, University of Michigan Press, Ann Arbor (2005).

@helenS I bet this could be an interesting read... I love notes about musicians, as their emotions before were so available in their music, so a window behind always holds a curiosity within me.

@SW-User I'm obsessed with Miles Davis books – I have at least four books about that genius man:
Ian Carr – Miles Davis: The Definitive Biography
Paul Tingen – Miles Beyond: " The Electric Explorations Of Miles Davis, 1967-1991 "
Philip Freeman – Running the Voodoo Down - The Electric Music of Miles Davis
... and the above-mentioned study by George Cole.

@helenS Surprise, I recall your love of Miles.... but thank you and maybe one day I'll look them up.... Obv they are more biographical?

@SW-User Carr's book is, of course, mostly biographical, the others are more about the music than the man.

@helenS I have some musical knowledge - but a fledgling at best, it's more in my DNA I neglected - so I appreciate all suggestions, and I will choose Carr's first.. We only have so much time, right? 😉
