I Love Bookstores And Libraries

I love libraries and used bookstores. The treasures in the stacks being out the geek in me.

New bookstores are nice. Their stock is limited to what sells quickly. I don't blame them. Prime commercial real estate is expensive.

Leant one very sad thing from a shop selling books among other second-hand goods, and that is there are people who buy lovely old books merely to destroy them by amputating the illustrations to use merely as pretty pictures without meaning or context. And presumably throw the rest away.

The Taliban would be proud of them...
