Do people still use libraries? I feel like I'm the only one.

I would love to. There was a single library for this city (besides the school and university library). They decided the city needed 3 libraries. They built one a mile from here (much closer than the original one) and it has some computers, a couple of rooms for activities and meetings etc., and very few books to check out. It’s a peaceful place, usually not many people there but so small. Then they bought a bookstore that had gone out of business, so much larger, put a coffee bar in it to make it a nice place to hang out and read, study etc. Of course it’s on the side of the city where the wealthy people live .Then they built a new central library 3 blocks from old one, very large and two stories. Has some little sitting areas outside with chairs to sit and rest and read if you want, and a lot of features. I would get the creeps walking on the second floor. The floor creaks when people are walking across it. Reminds me of the old Victorian house that (we can take tours of it) is more than a century old not far away, the upstairs floors are creaky too. Now that library has been closed down for over 2 years due to black mold. They are having a hard time trying to get it removed and it cost a lot of money to do it. I think they are pursuing legal actions against the contractor. The library was open less than 3 years when they closed it down and it’s still closed. 😡 We are paying taxes to pay for it and can’t even use it.
