I was a university librarian. We had a lot of students who came in and I got bored easily so I started reading their assignments.

They coukdn't write well cuz they didn't read. I'd pick a random book from a shelf, take a random page and sentence and show them, saying "Write like that". to take all the meandering uncertainty from their writing.

Made it real simple, worked real well.

@WhataHotBodyCanDo Thank you. I was in my early 20's and really despised the word "May". "This may indicate" No it bloody well didn't. "It indicated". Or could, as in "It could mean" just like, no. "It means."

I think once I heard "My teacher wants a high word count so i pad it out". I said "Your teacher doesn't give a fuck about the word count." Note these people were in their 20's and 30's.

It was very fun.
