Overused Words I hate Part 2

Gaslighting.
Getting sick of this one; apparently we are all gaslighting each other these days.

It's not even a good metaphor since it really means nothing to anyone anymore. Other metaphors like "up the creek without a paddle" gives some kind of idea what it means.

I looked it up in Wikipedia the other day because I never knew what it meant. I am still not entirely sure.

Apparently it came from a play or movie where a wife thought she was going mad because the gaslight levels fluctuated. Her husband said she was imagining it, when in fact he was the one actually causing it!

Supposedly psychologists frown against using it because it is vague and overused.
