I once had Samuel Pepys' Diary. I don't know why. I had no intention of reading it. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

@SW-User I would imagine the language is a bit archaic.

@Jacko1971 Not as much as Shakespeare, from what I've listened so far in the audiobook it's like humdrum activities, he plays some cards before coming back home, and reads by the fire before going to bed.

I agree about Shakespeare but it's different. Shakespeare is a play. It's supposed to be performed. It doesn't work any other way.

@Jacko1971 Yes. This diary should be spent time on for me come to think of it, as it's from around the same time as the Puritans which for me is a big thing at the moment. Puritan's language is antiquated too, perhaps much more than Sam.
