The Tao of Pooh is about “how to stay happy and calm in all circumstances.”
Sweet and enlightening.

@mossyboots The Te of Piglet by the same author, and of course a whole slew of other books analyzing how Pooh would approach many of today's issues. And of course the original two books by A. A. Milne: Winnie The Pooh and the House At Pooh Corners. They have been the basic philosophical bent of my entire life since I first read them around 6, and my mother helped me see the adult meanings and messages in addition to the child's entertainment overlaid on it.

@dancingtongue I loved all the Pooh books when I was a kid.

@mossyboots Have you read Christopher Robin's two books as well? In the first he seemed to still be struggling with the stress of being a worldwide celebrity as a child. The second far more content with the life he had established for himself.

@dancingtongue No I haven't. Last thing I read about him was he ran a bookshop in Devon and that it had been open for decades. I know he married his cousin who also didn't like the fame Winne the Pooh had brought him. But children have loved the old bear for years including myself and I think that is a small price to pay.

@mossyboots The "silly, old bear" who wasn't so silly. (Until Disney corrupted him.)

In addition to the bookstore, he is, or was, very active early on in environmental and ecological groups.
