The old couples you talked about when asked honestly by me personally have all said they just grew to live with one another because they do not know any other way to live. They just got complacent with one another and surrendered to the idea of this is as good as life will get for me.

@MrSmartyPants Yes, safe in I know the rent is paid/home paid off dinner will be at certain times, the things that need cleaned, cut, kids raised, or any other mundane thing in life has been taken care of by one or the other or both in tandem and all we have to do now is die.

@WillaKissing Mostly the case but I would like to think that there can be a tendency where both can lead fulfilling lives, as in careers, or participatory clubs where other friendships add value to their lives. Pursuits of the mind and spirit predominately.
