If you read non-fiction, what are your favorite subjects to read about?

I enjoy reading about history, especially American history and Medieval European history. I also enjoy reading about philosophy and intellectual history. I will occasionally read technical books on linguistics, but they aren't leisurely choices. :)

Mostly history. The last non-fiction book I read was Douglas Blackmon's Slavery by Another Name, about how Black slavery persisted from the end of the Civil War up to Pearl Harbor through the convict leasing system. I'm currently reading Vincent Bugliosi's Reclaiming History, the definitive study of the JFK assassination. The next one will be John M. Barry's The Great Influenza, about the Spanish Flu pandemic 100 years ago. Understandably, the library copy is pretty popular right now.
