Do you have a personal library?

A personal library looks like a thoughtful blend of cozy comfort and customized storage, ranging from floor-to-ceiling built-ins to a simple, beautifully styled reading corner.

Key Design Styles
Dark Academia:
Features deep wall colors like forest green, navy, or charcoal, paired with rich wood tones, brass lamps, and leather armchairs.
Minimalist Retreat:
Focuses on clean lines, light-colored or white floating shelves, and an uncluttered arrangement of select favorite books.
Integrated Living:
Weaves bookshelves naturally around existing architecture like doorways, empty corners, or fireplaces.

Organisation & Styling Ideas
Arrangement:
Books can be organized by genre, author, height, or visually sorted by the color of their spines for a striking rainbow gradient effect.
Mixed Display:
Alternate between vertical rows and horizontal stacks of books, adding framed photos, small sculptures, candles, or trailing plants in between.
Seating & Lighting:
Anchor the space with a comfortable, supportive armchair, a soft rug, a side table for a cup of tea, and warm, focused reading lights or a dimmable floor lamp.

When we moved into our apartmentt we oarted with a lot of "stuff" including many books. Regrettably, no one really wanted them. People don't seem to enjoy actual printed books anymore.

@samueltyler2 I have some rare books that are worth a lot of money

@Ximenajacoba they are only "worth" what someone is willing to pay for them. The same was true for the vinyl albums etc., that i had to part with.

I have many books gathered over many years, arranged all over the house generally by area of interest or the period in my life that they pertain to. I know where everything is, which is all that matters.
