Because neither side can win it alone. And even that the US is supposed to lose this one and be out of the middle east for a generation, and the only reliable direction is the entire middle east is going to be uninvestible for a century

You are reading from some crazy sources then. There is no way the U.S. could lose. Iran's military has been shattered. The best they could do is survive for a few months and force the Kurds to take a hand.

Iran might want to draw it out in the hope that Israel and the U.S. decide that finishing them off is not worth the effort, but Israel has had enough of the current Iranian government. The current Iranian government is doomed.

Israel absolutely want a gigantic war which engulfs the entirety of West Asia because their #1 goal is regional power and also expanding their own borders.

Meanwhile Iran are bombing fucking everything in sight because they need to make this war as catastrophic as possible to apply pressure on the US to stop attacking them. If Saudi Arabia is destabilized and losing tons of money, they are going to have Jared Kushner banging on Trump's door to tell him to knock it off.

This is also why every administration has wanted regime change in Iran, but only this one was stupid enough to go for it.
