Wanting my brain to do two different things

I want to watch my show but also read my book.

It's kind of annoying.

I don't think it's ADHD but, why does my brain get bored doing only one thing?

Periodically I stop watching my show and start watching TikToks (the easiest form of entertainment). I toggle between the two.

I couldn't just as easily start reading. For me reading takes all of my attention.

Maybe that's saying something.

I missed mentioning this during spooky season but a book called "Head Full of Ghosts" by Paul Tremblay was the best true horror book I'd ever read.

Right now it is "Top of the Pyramid" by Nia Sioux. Not at all my usual style, biographies, but I watched her grow up on TV in the show "Dance Moms" and she was always my favorite. Felt like a must to buy her book.

The only other biography book I liked was Marilyn Manson's book, "The Long Hard Road Out of Hell".

Oh and Kurt Cobain's "Journals" book.

Yeah, I have a similar problem,

The thing with tiktoks or YouTube shorts is that it requires you to swipe to the next video,
So it's a form of doing, not just watching,
And if requires you to swipe more often because of the shortness of the video

Reading (longer that an few sentences) is a nightmare for me,
I generally prefer audiobooks and text to speech readers for that reason,

Having a fidget toy really helps
And also doing cognitive light activities while listening has been a game changer,
Like doodling, folding clothes, etc
