Hit Goodwill for a few books, they had some new books at $10. Does anyone find that a bit steep? On another note, do you like someone reading to you? I think it would be sublime.. especially poetry.

As someone who used to work in bookstores, both new books bookstores and secondhand ones, yeah, that seems steep, especially it being Goodwill. But then times have changed, prices have gone up in every sector. Not that they should, but they have.
Where I live you can’t find used books that cheap anymore except for possibly at an outlet that’s similar to Goodwill.
Nice finds by the way :-) I love old books. I miss being surrounded by the smell of them, in the bookshops.
Edit: Oh, I misread your post. I didn’t see that it was *new* books selling at $10. No, that is not steep these days. That is quite cheap.
@LavidaRaq I like the idea of it, too. But in today’s economic climate, opening any sort of business entails a great deal more risk, and a bookstore is likely to face extra challenges. Not impossible to overcome, but at this stage in my life I don’t think I’d have the energy (even if I had the capital, which I don’t).
@otherspect I have seen some great little mobile bookstore ideas where they are actually booked in advance for different kinds of events very cute very chic
@LavidaRaq that's a cool idea. So basically, food trucks that sell books instead of food :-p hehe. Actually that would be a great idea... a coffee & pastry truck that also sells books to go with your breakfast, hehe
