Are there any films that are better than the books on which they are based?

@SumKindaMunster That's a great one.

Fincher did an amazing job of translating it to screen though.

@SumKindaMunster Great choice. Chuck's writing would seem really hard to transfer to film.

I felt Dolores Claiborne was better than the book

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the Swedish original)

@Justme264 Do I need to learn Swedish?

@BiasForAction Lovely!

I had no idea that it was based on a book.

I'll add it to my list of books to eventually buy. ;)
@Thodsis save your money it’s a boring book

@FeetAreFantastic What makes the King story better than the film?
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
@FeetAreFantastic Without a doubt.

@Thodsis The novel is Nothing Lasts Forever, by Roderick Thorp (1979). I got a first edition copy at a thrift store for 99 cents. It's much different than the movie.

@hunkalove I'll add it to my backlog. Thanks.

@Thodsis it was the sequel to The Detective (1969) starring Frank Sinatra. He had first rights to the character but by then he was too old.
