6/50 Joan Didion's Essay Collections & 7/50 My Eve Babitz collection

These 2 should go together, both recently died in the same year (2021), their writings can have a cat-fight in my head for the next 2 years.

It looks like I have all or most of her stuff, and wasn't she a looker back in the day? I'll save her fiction for another year. So here is the chronological line up of her essay books, I've been referring to Wikipedia for the info.

2. The White Album -- 1979
3. Salvador -- 1983

I have two Eve Babitz books, but I haven't read them yet. I have read two of Didion's essay collections, so I will probably read the Babitz next.

@HiFiRaver I think they were rivals of some sort, hope you have fun, Eve is definitely more wild than Joan :)

@bookerdana That's good to hear, Play It As It Lays looks good! Starting Slouching Towards Bethlehem, what a story to kick it off, some Seventh Day Adventist lady cooked her hubby in a car, was seeing another 7th Day-er, like a Dateline expose from the 60s!!
