12. Why This World by Benjamin Moser

There is something so magical about this Brazilian author, her writing casts a spell on you, she is like a literary version of my 2nd favorite film Fruit of Paradise, where it is singularly both secular and holy. Her vision, her message is like holy utterance. Her words allow the reader inside her unique and fertile mind, to those character's minds, their inner machinations, so that the bizarre is understandable, for example in The Passion According to G.H. if you read a synopsis of it, you'd have a giggle, but to read it, it's apocalyptic.

No one is like her, 100% unique, and just the thought of spending time with her work puts a big silly grin on my face.

Let it be known also that I am using my curriculum to help me realize on a deep level that I do not need to be buying many books for the rest of my life. This curriculum is actually more like being in a bunker during Armageddon, and delighting in the finest things ever put on the page.

I believe a few people here know of Clarice, her fame has spiked with the Internet, may her readership grow, as she is a treasure indeed.
