Hello folks, I just thought that when I finish a literary work, or book I shall add another post besides the 1 per wake period, so are ya ready for this??!!
At about 5:30 this morning arrived safely at the end of Clouds by Aristophanes originally from 423 BC, translated by Aaron Poochigian in this volume
It had me chuckling, those Greeks could surely let their hair down, but it was tinged with a bit of sorrow, because the resources that upped this to be read pronto was giving it the context of how it was maybe the reason why Socrates was put on trial and bit the dust.
Now I don't know all the ins and outs on this case, some say he could have escaped but he chose to stay in prison because he was a man of his word and all. But this comedy classic shows Socrates being all Pre-socratic, giving half-baked pre-scientific thoughts about things.
There were helpful footnotes throughout, which I used to add dates to an ever growing timeline, and the translation is great or so I gather from reviews.
Have a great day guys n' dolls, this has been your almost crazy reporter on the certainly crazy books and learning program, cheerio!!
