How is it different?

@Casheyane It’s the tale of a woman who decides that she’s going to turn vegetarian. And in South Korean society, where meat is really essential to every meal, she turns into this social outcast. The book also portrays how women are perceived in this patriarchal society and how this woman rejects all of it. It just makes you so uncomfortable to read it, to face the painful reality put so raw.. it’s eccentric.
But yeah that’s the best I can describe it 😅

@MysterySci Tell me how it ends and if she finds happiness. I don't have plenty time for hard bounds these days, but I do like to learn the plots.
Thanks for sharing. :)

@Casheyane Yes, will do!! But from how it’s going so far, I doubt she will find happiness tho :( But I will report back once I finish x

@MysterySci But from what you've told me so far, I kinda felt it would give off the same vibes as "Convenience Store Woman" by Sayaka Murata.

@Casheyane Would you recommend that book? How was it? :))

@MysterySci It's worth a read. But it's a very different take on women's minds.
It's about a woman who works at a convenience store who is stuck to her own world and way of thinking. She is actually content living what society would call a poor and mediocre life and is even willing to lie just to get to keep living that way.
So as a go getter, it honestly felt like an insult when a friend gave me that book. I didn't even know why he chose that (i.e. if he was insinuating something because I said I didn't wanna date at the time).
But writing and reading wise, it's worth a read if only for how different it is. I read it in less than a night I think.

@Casheyane These kinds of books are the best! I wonder maybe he didn’t read the book or know what it’s about before gifting it to you? 😅 Sometimes men don’t really think as deeply as we do 🫣 (from my experience with men in general lol)

@MysterySci Maybe...I wouldn't know LOL.
