I can recommend anything by Alexander Dumas. The Count of Monte Cristo is my own favourite

Far too many to choose from, but you can't go wrong with Terry Pratchett if you want to feel good, have a laugh. Right now I'm waiting for Amazon to show up with the bio of Simon Bolivar I ordered.

Reiman’s “The Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Prison” and Loewen’s “Lies My Teacher Told Me” should be required reading for all Americans
Just finished this exceptional book about women serving as nurses In Vietnam. A fictional tale packed with plenty of realism.

I just read a book called "The Unwanted" about a Vietnamese boy who's father was a US soldier , and his life growing in a country where he and those like him were looked down upon.
Pretty good reading.
I change about alot but The Hobbit, Of mice and men and Ann Franks diary
Also a Scottish writer called Ian Rankin as his books are based around Edinburgh where I have been alot.

At the moment my favourite is The Night Watch by Terry Pratchett. But it changes frequently, a few weeks ago it was Marcus Aurelius ' Meditations.
