Audio books are frustrating

I can read so much faster than they are saying the words. Maybe in the car would be a better place to listen to audio books

I'm not really into audio books, but I love "full cast dramatizations" and radio plays. But, yes, I guess in the car would be the place for listening to audiobooks.

@ChipmunkErnie sometimes I listen to a Broadway show or other musical on Spotify and it's kind of like watching the movie version

@NativePortlander1970 Yes, SUSPENSE sometimes, but most recently I've been falling asleep at night to THE HERMIT'S CAVE and THE WEIRD CIRCLE.
@ChipmunkErnie I need to check those out.

@NativePortlander1970 ARCHIVE.ORG has thousands of radio dramas and comedies for free download as MP3s, if you're interested
@ChipmunkErnie I Love that site, I have a lot of free domain books and papers from them, ProjectGutenburg.com is another good site.

@NativePortlander1970 I get a lot of pulp magazines from ARCHIVE.ORG.
@ChipmunkErnie I haven't seen one of those in ages, I remember when True Detective and Crime Story was still being sold so many decades ago, I'm surprised they didn't have an age rating on them, I was also buying National Lampoon when I was 11.

@NativePortlander1970 I've been reading reprints of some from the 1930s and 1940s recently: THE SPIDER, CAPTAIN SATAN, G-MAN: SUICIDE SQUAD.
@ChipmunkErnie Captain Satan? 😶

@NativePortlander1970 Ran for 5 issues in the 1930s -- a crime fighter with a crew of assistants who works outside the law -- usually outdoing the FBI. The typical idle rich man who fights crime, except his POV is after he takes down the criminals he steals all of THEIR stolen money and shares it out with is crew; he gets 1/3, they divide the rest.
