I understand that. There's a rate that both satisfies the listener, and does the content justice.
Especially important if it's instructional material, or you're a fast reader.
Personally, a leisurely pace is fine. I like to savor a good book, whether in print or on tape.
A talented narrator only adds to the experience.

@SethGreene531 Might of been my mood or even the actual narrator. Usually I don't have any problems with audio books but this one frustrated me.

@morrgin Certain voices, or inflections can be irritating. I have that.
And just like RL interactions, some days a narrator slow to the point can frazzle your nerves.
