A conversation with an English teacher.
There is an English teacher who frequents one of the coffee houses I like to go to, and every now and then we get into a conversation.
The other day we were talking about literature. I told her about my love of Jane Austen. She said she prefers the Brontës because she likes "darker" stories.
Thinking of Jane Eyre, I asked her, "Oh? So you like the idea of being locked in an attic?"
At that point her face lit up, her eyes went wide, and she broke into a smile. "Do I get to have books? I wouldn't mind being locked in an attic if I could have books!" 😄
